How to Measure for Custom Boots
Important Measurement Tips:
Please have someone help you measure.
Use tape measure and measure to closest 1/4".
Please tell clearly the measuring unit weather its Inches or cm (Our preferred measuring unit is cm, however measurements in Inches are also welcome)
When measuring for boots or shoes, all measurements must be taken in sitting position and without any appreciable weight on the foot
All measurements must be taken wearing their pants and     socks usually worn. (Steps 1-6 over socks or hose worn with     boots; Point 7-9 over breeches.)
When measuring the foot, make sure the socks ar not     wrinkled.
When tracing and measuring the foot, make sure the foot does not move.
When taking the top measurement make sure the pants worn are not wrinkled in the back of the knee.
Measure both right and left foot.
All measurements should be taken snug, not girth or loose.
If any foot problems, you can call us for information.
Please remember to fill out our measurement form completely.
Place tape snugly but without pressure around areas to be measured. .
Step 1.  Tracing
Wearing socks or hose normally worn, trace the outline of your foot at 90 degree position using a pencil. (You must also trace under the arch at a 45 degree angle). Then take a measuring tape and measure from the longer toe line straight to the back of the heel.

Trace each foot on a separate piece of paper and mark right and left.

(If you are sending measurement form via internet by email attachment, you can send this tracing via Fax.)

Precautions:
Make sure tracing and measurements have all information filled out. Please be sure to add the dotted lines to your tracing indicating the arch and ball of your feet.

Trace and label any corns, etc.
Step 2.  Length
1.  Draw a straight line, longer then your foot, on a piece of paper.
2.  Place the paper on a flat surface. Stand on the line with your heel and longest toe centered on the line.
3.  Heave a friend place a mark on the line at the tip of your toe and back of your heel. Measure both feet.
4.  Measure the distance between the marks.

Precautions:
Length must be taken wearing socks usually worn
Step 3.  Ball
Measure the ball of the foot from the big toe joint all the way around the little toe joint, straight across without angling the tape.

Precautions:
Mark the position of the tape on the outline of the foot.
Step 4.  Instep
Measure from the highest point of the top of the foot all the way around straight across, not in an angle.

Precautions:
Mark the position of the tape on the outline of the foot.
Step 5.  Heel
The heel measurement is taken diagonally from the bottom of the back of the heel across the top of the foot.

Precautions:
Mark the position of the tape on the outline of the foot.

Step 6.  Ankle
Measure around the ankle bone.
(Usually 4"-6" from the floor).
Step 7.  Calf
The calf measurement is taken at the widest part  of the calf. It can be found by sliding the measuring tape up and down until finding the widest spot.
Step 8.  Boot Top
The top is measured at the highest point (to the crease of the knee) and make a pencil mark on outside of the leg on top of the tape.
Step 9.  Height of Boot
The height is measured from the pencil mark, to the floor, on the outside of the leg. (This pencil mark was done in step 8).

Then add 1 1/4 inches for your total height measurements (That is to allow for breakage and wrinkling)

With the customer sitting and feel placed flat on the floor, place tape around the leg as high as possible to the bend in the knee.

Precautions:
Keep tape parallel to the floor.
